Finding new egg colours and features has always been an area of interest of mine when it comes to chickens. This can be kind of floofy and hard to determine at times but egg colour is something that has a lot of variables! Below are some pictures of our various eggs over the years.
2020
This is the first year we had chickens. I experimented with a few different breeds and quickly moved on to hatching out our own chickens!
2021
We continued to hatch our own chickens and experiment with egg colours. We also experimented with ducks, pheasants, and turkeys!
2022
More experimenting! We moved out to an acreage this year and had a lot of room to work with! This also allowed us to have various pens for different breeds and mixes.
2023
More experimenting! We also opened a Farm Stand this year! This allowed us to sell our produce and eggs in a way that was much less time consuming for us.
2024
The Farm Stand was very successful and it simplified our lives a lot in the summer! That continued this year and the experimenting with egg colour did too!
2025
The Farm Stand had a lot of variety such as sourdough, honey, plants, produce, pumpkins, eggs, and more! I am happy now with the egg colours I have, but I am always on the lookout for more!
